By accessing or using The Local ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, hosts, and others who access or use the Service.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Misrepresent your identity or the nature of activities you host
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Manipulate reviews, ratings, or booking data
• Resell access to the Service without authorization

The platform is currently free to use for both hosts and users. Hosts may set prices on their activities for informational purposes. Direct payments between hosts and users may be introduced in the future. Cancellation policies for individual bookings are determined by the host.

Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their activity listings, ensuring a safe environment for attendees, and complying with local laws and regulations. The Local is a platform connecting hosts with users and does not organize or operate activities directly.

You retain ownership of content you create on the Service (listings, descriptions, photos, reviews). You grant The Local a license to display and distribute your content as necessary to operate the platform. The Local retains all rights to its own brand, design, and technology.

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any reason with reasonable notice. You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Local shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including injuries or damages arising from activities booked through the platform.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
